Watch Kristina Harrison-Naness and Rociero XV's musical freestyle ride from the 2008 Collecting Gaits/U.S. Equestrian Federation's Dressage Festival of Champions.

This video is from the 2008 Collecting Gaits/U.S. Equestrian Federation's Dressage Festival of Champions and is by W Videography. It is brought to you with permission from Kristina Harrison-Naness.

The popularity of Iberian horses in the United States is evident as more and more show up at competition each year and do well. The PRE (Pura Raza Espa?ola) is the Spanish registry, and the most successful PRE in the United States thus far is the 12-year-old Rociero XV (by Rociero VIII out of Bombardina II). Now owned by Margaret Carrera and her husband, Phil Joffe, of Symphony Farms near Sacramento, Calif., Rociero was bred by Antonio Torrico Fernandez in Cadiz, Spain.

Under rider Kristina Harrison-Naness, Rociero XV has won U.S. Dressage Federation All-Breeds awards from Prix St. Georges to Intermediaire II. The pair were among the top 12 horses who qualified to compete at the U.S. Olympic Selection Trials at the end of June 2008--the first PRE to qualify for this honor. This is a video of their freestyle ride.

Read the complete interview with Harrison-Naness as she talks about Rociero XV and what you can apply to your own training in the August 2008 issue of Dressage Today magazine.
