Dressage Today Announces ‘Outfit My Ride’ Contest Winners

Three lucky entrants score the latest in tack and apparel, courtesy of contest sponsors Ovation® and PDS® Saddles.

January 7, 2016–Pamela Rosenberger of Plano, Texas, has won the ‘Outfit My Ride’ Contest grand prize, sponsored by Ovation® and PDS® Saddles.

The contest, which received more than 1,039 entries from horse enthusiasts around the country, asked entrants to explain why they and their horses deserved to be outfitted with the latest tack and apparel from Ovation® and PDS® Saddles.

“A good sense of humor, hard work, and a talent for making great, home-made Italian food will only get you so far in the world of dressage,” Rosenberger wrote in her winning essay. “I have never owned anything for Dolce [her OTTB mare] that has not been secondhand, and this would be a true ‘fairy godmother’ life event. Every time I ride, I would be so genuinely grateful to and appreciate Ovation and PDS. I LOVE this sport, I love my horse, and I look forward to the day when I can join other riders in the show ring.”

For her efforts, Rosenberger will receive a package worth more than $4,000: a PDS® Carl Hester Grande Saddle, an Ovation® Weymouth Double Bridle or Ovation® Patent-Leather Snaffle Bridle, a pair of Ovation® Olympia Tall Show Boots, a pair of Ovation® Celebrity Slim Secret EuroWeave DX Front-Zip Full-Seat Breeches, an Ovation® Ladies’ Cool-Rider Zip-Mock and an Ovation® Elite II Zephyr Helmet.

Peggy Halpin of Concord, Vermont, placed second with her essay and photo. She will receive an Ovation® Show Pack. The third-place essay and photo was submitted by Karen McIntyre of Gainesville, Virginia, who won a pair of Ovation® Zocks Boot Socks.

“We were so pleased with the number of entries we received in this contest,” says Dressage Today editor Jennifer Mellace. “The competition was tough, and it was a challenge for us to narrow things down. But in the end, we felt Pamela’s love for and dedication to her horse and the sport of dressage earned her this win. We can’t wait to see a photo of her and Dolce showing off their prizes as they ride down centerline!”
