In this week’s Dressage Today Podcast, sponsored by Purina, Aviva and Stephany talked to attendees at the 2024 Adequan®/USDF Convention, held from December 4 – 7 in Houston, Texas. They interviewed first-time convention attendee Lindsay Burns from the Georgia Dressage & Combined Training Association in Region 3. Lindsay shares why she attended and what she learned at this year’s convention for both herself and her local USDF Group Member Organization.
Next they chatted with Rosa Meehan and Hilary Starzynski, president and vice president of the Alaska Dressage Association respectively, about their thoughts on this year’s convention. After being named the 2024 Region 6 Volunteer of the Year, Rosa was eager to attend this year, so she and Hilary made the long trip down to Houston. They also talk about how they make dressage work in Alaska, including how they ride and overcome the many challenges the state’s arctic temps present.
Additionally, Aviva and Stephany catch up on what’s new with them—including Stephany’s exciting news about a grant she received from The Dressage Foundation. Plus, Aviva provides advice on how to improve your leg yield from the point of view at C, in our Ask the L segment.
We hope you enjoy the listen, and that it inspires you to attend to the 2025 USDF Convention in Kentucky!
