Part 5: Catherine works with the rider to keep the mare's neck soft, and leave it quiet as they work through trot to canter transitions. He works on pressing his hand forward towards the ears to give the bit, rather than pushing towards the mouth, which allows a release without moving the mare's neck or interrupting relaxation in her topline. Catherine concludes the session by suggesting the rider continue to work on moving the horse's shoulder and hind to increase her suppleness and continue her education.
