When they return to work after a walk break, Scott emphasizes that each transition is important, including the first one because horses learn by consistency.  They collect for a few steps while keeping active, and check for suppleness and softness.  He explains that collection is compression, where the horse pushes back.  They look at the trot half passes next and with the previous work they create flowing, forward half passes showing her ability to carry and be adjustable.  The halt to trot transitions show engagement and Scott reminds her to check in and see if there is a half halt that changes her balance available all the time.  They show exemplary trot halt transitions.
