This January, more than 300 dressage trainers and professionals from around the U.S. convened at High Meadow Farm in Loxahatchee, Florida, for the 2025 Adequan®/USDF FEI-Level Trainers’ Conference seeking new training insights and continuing education from headlining clinicians Monica Theodorescu and Christine Traurig, as well as some welcome sunshine during the doldrums of winter. While The Sunshine State didn’t deliver sunny skies or balmy temps, attendees and riders left with fresh perspectives and new tools in their training repertoire to pass along to their horses and students.

USDF bronze, silver and gold medalist and large ‘R’ judge Amy Bradley worked with Theodorescu at the conference to help develop confidence in her sensitive 8-year-old Oldenburg gelding I Spy and encourage him to stay in contact and on the aids in consistent rhythm. She also has the pair practice walk pirouettes for pre-St. George and counter-canter on three-loop serpentines to improve suppleness and build strength.

Here, in our behind-the-scenes’ interview with Bradley at the conference, she talks to us about how she and I Spy first partnered and their journey together and shares her key takeaways from this year’s event.
