Day 21: Maintain Your Posture

We hear a lot of discussion about improving the topline of a horse. Riders can train for better posture by strengthening the muscles in the chain in their ?backline.’? Regardless of the discipline, riders can benefit from exercises that strengthen the muscles supporting good spine alignment and hip posture. Some of those muscles include the gluteals and lower, mid and upper back muscles. Exercises like squats target the glutes. Other exercises target the back muscles. Watch this video for some combination exercises that address multiple muscles in the chain supporting good posture, while also introducing balance challenges similar to the challenges a rider’s body needs to meet while riding.
