Olympic Dressage Grand Prix Start List Announced

With the Olympic dressage Grand Prix Start list announced, Orlob and Lyle compete on Day 1, Peters and von Bredow-Werndell on Day 2.

July 29, 2024—The Paris Olympic dressage Grand Prix start list has been announced. The dressage competition will begin with 30 riders competing on Day 1, Tuesday (July 30), and 30 riders on Day 2, Wednesday (July 31).

Marcus Orlob and Adrienne Lyle will be the first U.S. Olympic dressage competitors to ride down centerline in Paris on Day 1. Orlob and Jane will compete at 1:57 p.m. Paris local time (7:57 a.m. EST). Lyle and Helix will also ride Tuesday at 3:52 p.m. local time (9:52 a.m. EST). Third U.S. team member Steffen Peters with Suppenkasper will ride on Day 2 at 3:01:30 p.m. local time (9:01:30 EST).

Start Order Highlights

A total of 15 teams and 15 individual horse-and-rider pairs will compete in the Olympic dressage Grand Prix.

First in Day 1’s order of go is at 11 a.m. local time (5 a.m. EST) is Stefan Lehfellner (AUT) with Roberto Carlos Mt, followed by World Championship team gold medalist Nanna Skodborg Merrald (DEN) with Zepter.  On Day 2, Great Britain’s Charlotte Fry, reigning individual World Champion, will lead the way with Glamourdale when the team competition begins at 10.00 a.m. local time (4 a.m. EST). 

Each day, athletes will compete in three groups of 10. 

Additionally, on Day 1, Carl Hester (GBR) and Fame will compete at 12:25:30 p.m. local time (6:25:30 a.m. EST). Frederic Wandres (GER) and Bluetooth OLD will ride at 1:09:30 p.m. local time (7:09:30 EST).

On Day 2, Isabell Werth (GER) and Wendy are scheduled to go at 11:25:30 a.m. local time (5:25:30 a.m. EST). Jessica von Bredow-Werndel (GER) and TSF Dalera BB, Tokyo 2020 double-gold medalists, will be the last pair to compete that day at 3:20:30 p.m. local time (9:20:30 a.m. EST).

Olympic Dressage Schedule

After the Grand Prix, the top-10 ranked teams will then ride in the Grand Prix Special on Saturday, August 3, to determine team medals. The top-18 individual contenders from that day will qualify for the Grand Prix Freestyle that determines the individual medal on Sunday, Aug. 4.
