Dressage Today Podcast: Ellie Brimmer

Welcome to the Dressage Today Podcast sponsored by Wellness Ready. In this episode, Stephanie and Aviva talk about their recent outings with their horses Lily and Tiger, respectively. Then Aviva leads a discussion on how skillsets differ for judging, teaching, riding and training in “Ask the L”. Together they interview para dressage rider and newly elected USEF board member Ellie Brimmer.

Ellie Brimmer grew up in Minnesota, but has called Wellington, Florida home for almost 10 years. She is from a long line of equestrians and competed in hunters through college before making the switch to dressage. As a para-dressage rider, she was longlisted for the 2012 paralympic team and is a current USEF Para-Dressage Development athlete representative. She has been a spokesperson for athletes with disabilities her entire life. Ellie has traveled the world not only as an athlete but as a volunteer and supporter of Para-Dressage. She has advocated for the Paralympic discipline helping trainers, riders and others understand the parallels of Para-Dressage and Dressage as a high-performance sport.

Ellie is on the board of the U.S. Para-Equestrian Association and in January was named to the United States Equestrian Federation’s (USEF) Board of Directors.
