With over two years to go until the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games (LA28), the Organizing Committee has unveiled the official competition timetable. Para-dressage, the equestrian discipline on the Paralympic program, will take place August 16 – 21, 2028 across six days of competition.
The timetable for the para-dressage competition at the LA28 Paralympic Games has been carefully developed with climate conditions in mind to provide the best possible environment for the horses, athletes, officials and spectators. The full timetable is available here.
As with previous Paralympic Games, the timetable remains provisional and may be subject to change up until the Games in 2028. Para-dressage will officially begin on August 14 with the first horse inspection, one day ahead of the Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony.
Following the comprehensive presentation by LA28 at the FEI General Assembly 2025 and the confirmation of the Olympic competition schedule, FEI President Ingmar De Vos says the announcement of the Paralympic timetable is another important milestone.

“The schedule is compact, balanced and designed with horse and athlete welfare at its core. Three non-competition days are built in to allow horses and athletes to settle in, prepare and recover, while also providing flexibility should unforeseen circumstances arise,” De Vos said. “We are very pleased with the progress being made toward the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic equestrian events and look forward to continuing our close collaboration with the Organizing Committee over the next two years. It is also very positive that para-equestrian will retain the same medal events and quota places as at Paris 2024.”
Like the other Olympic equestrian events, the para-dressage events will take place at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. “Strong foundations are now in place, and we are confident LA28 will deliver exceptional Olympic and Paralympic equestrian events in a truly outstanding venue,” De Vos added.
Timetable
Para-dressage competition begins on August 16 with the Grand Prix A across all five Grades and will continue through August 18. The Grand Prix B for all Grades is scheduled for August 19.
Following a rest day on August 20, during which the second horse inspection will be held in the afternoon, the para-dressage events will conclude on August 21 with the Grand Prix Freestyle.
