Enter the Dressage Today 2019 Blogger Contest!

We are on the hunt for one Adult Amateur dressage rider and one professional dressage rider who can blog about their dressage journeys on a regular basis.

If you are an active dressage rider and you’ve got a way with words, you could be a great fit for Dressage Today’s family of bloggers! We want to meet YOU!

We are on the hunt for one Adult Amateur dressage rider and one professional dressage rider who can blog about their dressage journeys on a monthly basis, sharing stories and photos for the span of one year.

We’re looking for writers (and riders!) who have a unique voice, great story-telling ability and a strong dressage background.

Sound like fun? Read more about the two separate divisions below. Entries close August 19, 2019 at 11:59 PM.

Thanks to our partner Mackey Equine Accessories for providing prizes for this contest. Scroll down to read more about Mackey Equine Accessories and their fun products!

Adult Amateur Rider Division

What We’re Looking for: Our ideal Adult Amateur blogger is actively involved in the dressage community—as a rider, competitor, volunteer, student, owner, etc. We welcome riders of all levels to enter! You don’t need to be able to ride piaffe or tempi changes, but we do need you to have a great sense of humor and the ability to share meaningful reflections on your dressage journey. While a theme or focus of your blog isn’t required, it is preferred. For example, maybe you’re a backyard warrior working toward your USDF bronze medal, or you’re a retiree who has returned to dressage after a 20-year break. Or, perhaps your horse is an unusual breed who is turning heads in the dressage world. Whoever you are, if you have a cool story, we’d like to hear it!

The Winner: The winning blogger will provide one blog per month for 12 months (total of 12 blogs with at least one accompanying photo per blog. Word count is between 700-2000 words per blog.)
As the winner, you will receive:

-A platform to share your story on DressageToday.com and Dressage Today’s social media

-Mackey Equine Accessories Backpack (see details below)

-One year subscription to Dressage Training Online, our online dressage training video
library (a value of more than $345!)

To Enter the Adult Amateur division:

Please submit a sample blog (300-500 words) about yourself and your riding background to help us get to know you better! Please include a photo (or photos) to accompany your blog. A note about the photos: This isn’t a beauty contest—we don’t care if you look like Heidi Klum or Tyra Banks, or a regular barn rat. We just want to see that you can provide fun photos of your dressage life to accompany your blog. Please email your submissions to Lindsay Paulsen at lpaulsen@aimmedia.com
by August 19, 2019.

Professional Division

What We’re Looking For: Our ideal dressage professional blogger is—you guessed it—a professional dressage rider or trainer! We are looking for someone who has a fun personality and can communicate clearly through the written word. In addition to sharing reflections on your life as a dressage professional, we’d like each blog to have a training focus, with discussion on a training challenge, training tip or a favorite exercise. Our ideal candidate actively competes, teaches regularly and has experience through the FEI levels.

The Winner: If you are selected as the winner, you will provide one blog per month for 12 months (total of 12 blogs with at least one accompanying photo and training tip/exercise per blog. Word count is between 700-2000 words per blog.)
As the winner, you will receive a:

– Platform to share your story on DressageToday.com and Dressage Today’s social media

-Mackey Equine Accessories Backpack (see details below)

-One year subscription to Dressage Training Online, our online dressage training video library (a value of more than $345!)

To Enter the Professional Division:
Please submit a sample blog post (300-500 words) about yourself and your riding background to help us get to know you better! Please include a riding photo (or photos) to accompany your sample post. In addition to background information, please submit a favorite (short) training exercise, written with step-by-step instructions. Submit your entry by email to Lindsay Paulsen at lpaulsen@aimmedia.com by August 19, 2019.
