U.S. Dressage Team Short List for 2024 Olympics Announced

U.S. Dressage Team Short List for the Summer Olympics: Meet the eight athlete-and-horse combinations who made the cut.

US Equestrian announced the eight athlete-and-horse combinations selected to the U.S. Dressage Team Short List for continued observation ahead of team selection for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games later this summer.

The U.S. Dressage Team Short List for the 2024 Paris Olympics was announced by US Equestrian.

U.S. Dressage Team Short List

The following athletes and horses have been selected to the U.S. Dressage Team Short List for the 2024 Summer Olympics and are listed in alphabetical order:

  • Katherine Bateson-Chandler (Wellington, Florida) and Haute Couture. Jennifer Huber and Katherine Bateson-Chandler own the mare, a 2012 Dutch Warmblood (Connaisseur x Destiney).
  • Anna Buffini (Rancho Santa Fe, California) and Fiontini. The mare is Buffini’s own 2010 Danish Warmblood (Fassbinder x Rapitala).
  • Adrienne Lyle (Wellington, Florida) and Helix. He is a 2012 Dutch Warmblood (Apache X Zeester T) gelding owned by Zen Elite Equestrian Center. Lyle’s other mount is Lars van de Hoenderheide, a 2011 Belgian Warmblood (Negro x Taaika) gelding owned by Zen Elite Equestrian Center.
  • Anna Marek (Dunnellon, Florida) and Fire Fly. Janet Simile owns the gelding, a 2020 KWPN (Briar Junior x Arieka).
  • Marcus Orlob (Loxahatchee, Florida) and Jane. Alice Tarjan owns the is a 2014 Dutch Warmblood (Desperado x Zandra) mare.
  • Endel Ots (Wellington, Florida) and Zen Elite’s Bohemian. Zen Elite Equestrian Center owns the gelding, a 2010 Westphalian (Bordeaux x Sunshine).
  • Steffen Peters (San Diego, California) and Suppenkasper. The gelding is a 2008 KWPN (Spielberg x Upanoeska) gelding owned by Four Winds Farm and Akiko Yamazaki.

Competition Requirements and Final Team Selection

Athletes and horses on the U.S. Dressage Team Short List must compete in a minimum of two CDIs between May 8 and June 25, 2024. They also must compete in at least one of the following Observation Events: Le Mans CDI4*, Hagen CDI3* or Rotterdam CDIO5*.

In the CDIO5* team competition, the combinations will be led by Chef d’Equipe Christine Traurig. U.S. Equestrian will announce final team selection by June 25, 2024. All nominations to the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team are subject to approval by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee.
