Horses enjoy mixing it up!

Poles are a great way to get your horse to elevate the front end naturally, and for them to lift their legs up and engage the hind end! Here Mary works her Thoroughbred Mare over poles in her dressage lesson with me. Chanel is just coming back from having a foal, so we are using the poles to help strengthen her hind end and create balance. The pole work also helps horses stay steady before and after a jump, and can give a hot horse something to focus on and a mellow horse a reason to lift their legs higher! Let me know what kind of pole exercises you try!
