Training Buzz: Olivia Lagoy-Weltz on 10-Meter Circles

In this Training Buzz we hear from international dressage trainer and competitor Olivia Lagoy-Weltz. She explains and demonstrates how to correctly ride a 10-meter circle. To begin the ride on her 8-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare, Olivia spends a long time walking and stretching the horse. Then to get proper turns on a 10-meter circle, she explains the need to start from a place of having the horse equal on both reins and both legs. Once that is the case, the turns will be easy, but there are many places in the alignment, of either the horse or rider, where things can go wrong. That is what makes 10-meter circles more difficult.
