FUN WITH PAS DE DEUX

The last weekend in July I was at the Morven Park summer fling show in Leesburg, VA. After the show Canaan Ranch had a Pas de Deux Challenge. It was set up beautifully and watching lovely horses ride to music with the awesome setting of the blue ridge mountains was fantastic! The musical freestyle routines were choreographed ahead of time and practiced by both horse and rider at home, so that by the time the show day came they could stay in sync with the music and partner as well. It seemed to me that the horses really perked up when the music came on, and really showed their stuff. I love riding to music and now I am thinking of what horses I have that I could pair up and make a routine on. Not sure that this would ever be seen in public, but it would be fun to ride at home and crank up the music and stay to the beat. Lets all try it and see how it goes, share your experiences here with us!
